Carrollton Celebrates Independence Day with Fireworks July 3
Post Date:05/15/2024 3:15 PM
Fireworks3The City of Carrollton will celebrate the rockets’ red glare with the annual Independence Day Fireworks Show over Josey Ranch Lake on Wednesday, July 3 after sunset.
Enjoy a spectacular display of star-spangled fireworks
at 9:30 p.m. over Josey Ranch Lake (1700 Keller Springs Road). Residents are encouraged to view the fireworks from surrounding neighborhoods or from one of the available parking areas. There will be no on-site event, however, viewing from the grassy area around the site is allowed. A rainout date of Friday, July 5 has been scheduled for the same time.
Earlier in the day on July 3, an Independence Day Concert at the Carrollton Senior Center (1720 Keller Springs Road) will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the entire family is invited to enjoy patriotic music provided by The New Horizon Band. No registration is required, but space is limited.

In case of escape, make sure pets are wearing a collar with an identification tag, are microchipped, and are registered with the City.
Carrollton Fire Rescue reminds citizens it is illegal to possess, manufacture, store, sell, handle, or discharge fireworks within Carrollton City limits. While all fireworks are illegal, Class C consumer fireworks include most over-the-counter items such as bottle rockets, Roman candles, sparklers, spinners, and sparkle fountains.
According to the latest Fireworks Annual Report released by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, U.S. hospital emergency rooms treated an estimated 10,200 injuries related to fireworks in 2022, 73 percent of which occurred between June 18 and July 18. Children younger than 15 years of age accounted for 28 percent of those injured. Fireworks also caused 12,264 fires and $59 million in direct property damage in 2021, according to the National Fire Protection Association.
